Recreation Centers
The Recreation Centers are dedicated to enriching the quality of life for participants by providing a continuum of services that are integral to the development of neighborhoods. These services are delivered in a manner that ensures collaboration with residents and businesses in and meets the City’s goal of obtaining excellence, responsiveness, and effectiveness.

Five core services areas offer a variety of educational and recreation based activities. These include cultural enrichment, health and physical activities, social enhancement, personal development and life skills, outdoor and environmental education. In addition, ten facilities provide licensed day care services, which promote the creative and social development of the children. Particular emphasis is placed on building and reinforcement of a positive self-image and the positive expression of cooperative feelings in group situations.

Centers are open weekday afternoons, evenings and weekends during the school year, and weekdays only during the summer. The use of a Facility Use Card provides access to all Norfolk's Recreation Centers and Pools. For information about programs and activities at a specific center, call the center directly.
